This event marks last research activity of PUBlicIMAGinING research project at Design department of Jan van Eyck Academie, as well as the start of CODE workshop activities as cross-disciplinary work dealing with software production, deployment and related cultures.
Michael Aschauer
produced a large body of widely presented and awarded
on-line, video, sculptural and installation works (presented at Ars
Electronica, ZKM, UCSD, Medienturm Graz, transmediale festival,
Kunsthalle Hartware and many more). He also supported several large
collaborative multi-media productions as technologist/programmer.
He will talk about his experiences of presentation models of display in
gallery, video screenings and web work, as well as on issues of
production of on-line work, live events and field work. He will demo a
systemic aggregation and capturing of ambient images from his works
and give introduction to managing and mashing images and meta
information for web.
Daniel Fischer
is a software developer and artist working as researcher
at the Faculty of Media of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
He has been involved in programming since childhood and worked on
projects from low-level media programming for operating systems,
motion tracking, vector graphics libraries, video software and as of 3 years
on multi-touch tabletop interface. He conducted and participated in
workshops and productions with designers, performing artists,
activists and hack meetings. During his stay at JVE he will talk about
experiences of collaborative, open-source, cross-platform work, as
well as presenting and demoing his art projects that use image
analysis, motion tracking, vector graphics and multi-touch
technological work. He will give introduction workshop on using
different free libraries/tools in the process of working with digital images.
