Recycle X project with patchingzone in 2010

In January 2010 patchingzone.nl will start a new project entitled Recycle X in the city of Dordrecht (South Holland). I will be joining a group of media/technology practitioners and work on a series of intervention projects and workshops until the end of summer 2010. It will be a great opportunity to work hands on materials, developing skills and engaging with local community.

Michelle Teran will conduct 2 day WORKSHOP as a part of Imaginary Property event City Lab starting on Thursday 21st at noon in Annex (workspace of Jan van Eyck Academie) and concluding it with public action on evening of Friday 22nd. It will include technical tutorial, discussion, city research, experiments with different media technologies and setups, mapping walks and maybe something else...

Session will feature a dialogue between artist Michelle Teran and academic Bas Van Heur, on topics of:
trans-disciplinary work, positions of critique and engagement within a public sphere
including reference to their recent work, theoretical descourses and polemics around cities (un)visible media (infra)structures.

project initiated by Željko Blaće as speculative design research at Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, on the topic of visual mediation and civic engagement with urban space. Its aims are set: to articulate proactive discourse in theoretical research and examine and test strategies of engagemnet with public in event series. Its production aspect is set in speculative design of open, participatory and distributed media sysyem prototyps that operate as tools for systemic visual observation of urban spaces and utilizing their visual outputs...

Project aims to establish a discourse of a proactive engagement through:
a) designing a prototype media system for the collective production of observation images of urban public spaces, producing visual material that would support different perception modes focusing on suble environmental changes, over a longer periods of time;
b) promoting praoctive discourse and engaging public with articulation of public space (utilizing: posters, public actions, serveys, installations...) and desimanating it in academic environment (using publications, events and conducting workshops)
Production aspects of the project are set to experiment with SlowCAM setups, development of a website that would document/support project development and tools as CompilingMovies as integrated visual media...more on PUBlicIMAGinING!
